Mildred Cooper Gasque, age 89
Aynor…Mildred Cooper Gasque, age 89, wife of the late Elijah Gasque passed away at her residence after a long illness surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Gasque was born November 12, 1922 in Conway, SC and was the daughter of the late Alford James and Anna Smith Cooper. She resided in the Cool Springs section of Horry County and was a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church. Mrs. Gasque was pre-deceased by two children: Joanne Gasque, and Joseph Gasque; five brothers: Clarence Cooper, Harry Cooper, Van Cooper, Roy Cooper, and Wyatt Cooper, and four sisters: Cecile Todd, Maude Peavy, Mary Frances Singleton, and Essie Mae Wilson. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Surviving Mrs. Gasque are her children; Shirley Johnson of Marion, Jesse (Joanne) Gasque of Dillon, Annie (Dan) Register of Conway, Curlie Ann Norton, Fannie (Charlie)Ellis, Sheila Gasque all of Aynor, daughter-in-law Barbara Gasque of Latta, her sister Lillian Johnson of Conway, her grandchildren, Tamara Blanton of Socastee, Buddy (Anna) Gasque of Marion, Sherrie Gasque of Latta, Donnie(Susanna) Register of Conway, Glenn Johnson, Sara Jo (Kim) Singleton, Jody(Sonia) Norton, Mark (Marie) Ellis, Laura (Bradley) Hardwick, Greg Benton, Dana(Mack) Rabon, Bronson (Logan) Church all of Aynor; great-grandchildren: Ellis and Eva Hardwick, Kennedy and Ryann Ellis, Morgan and Claire Singleton, Daniel Register, Holden and Sam Gasque, Bryson and Keaton Messer, Peyton and Bryar Johnson, and a very special friend, Patsy (Glenn) Turner of Aynor. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Pleasant Union Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Dock Rabon officiating. Visitation will be held in the church fellowship hall after the graveside service. Mrs. Gasque and her family are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home of Aynor.
